The Little Sikkers Variety Show

A confidence building activity for ages 4 – 6.

Join us as we challenge your little performers to practice their skills and take part in our online variety show.

Ms. Carly Stark will lead our younger students through 4 weeks of activities that will culminate in an Online Variety Show including jokes, songs, poems, dance, and more. Each week a new challenge will be set to the class in a 40 minute Zoom class and participants will have a week to submit their entries ready for inclusion in the final Variety show video that will be posted to our Facebook page after Eid.

Who can get involved?

This activity is specifically aimed at children aged 4 – 6. Registration is open to both existing SIK KIDS drama students and new students. Students do NOT have to be currently in Kuwait as all rehearsals will be online. (Ability to work in English is essential.)

What time commitments are required?

There will be one 40 minute class per week where student will be guided through the activity challenge for the week. They will be encouraged to practice with parents and film and submit their finished performance by Monday of the following week for inclusion in the Variety show video. Each week the class will cover a new performance style.

What are the times/days?

Group sessions will take place weekly over Zoom on Wednesdays commencing Wednesday May 6th from 3.30pm to 4.15pm.

How much work will parents have to do?

Perhaps we should have put this one first! It is the most important question after all! As ever, we rely on parental support to help the children rehearse and film their finished pieces. Now more than ever you are their home-coach and we appreciate that. Costumes and props are minimal, and  every student should find what they need readily accessible at home. Creative parents can get as involved as they like in the process of helping their children record their finished video submission, (camera work, creative lighting, costume, sound effects, hair, make up etc. You become the tech crew!). Mainly, your job is to be their cheerleader, to encourage them to commit, work hard and produce the most confident performance they can, then to over-see their final video recording and upload it to us on schedule each week.

How much does it cost?

We don’t want the financials to be a barrier so have decided to offer this opportunity for free to all students who wish to take part. However, we have started a donations page for those who are in a position to support us and, if you can, we would really appreciate it. (It may the difference between us being here in September or not!)

And finally….Donations Drive

If you are able to support your local community theatre through a donation it will help us continue to pay our rent and our bills until the time we can all meet again physically and put on a show. Thank you!
