Join us for “Absolute Pantomonium” by Jon Money, a fast-paced, hilarious twist on traditional British pantomime, packed with sharp wit, quick-fire comedy, strong characters, and plenty of Panto chaos.
We’re looking for confident, energetic performers with great comic timing, strong characterisation, and a willingness to embrace the ridiculous.
If you love comedy, larger-than-life characters, and entertaining audiences of all ages, come audition and be part of the fun!
Performances are planned over one weekend, December 10-12th.
Thursday December 10th (opening night)
Friday December 11th – TWO SHOW DAY
Saturday December 12th – TWO SHOW DAY
Rehearsals, at The English School, Salmiya, will take place on Fridays 12-6PM and Saturdays 5-7PM after the initial November 3rd 7:30PM Readthrough. A full schedule of rehearsals will be provided upon casting. Fridays are required, Saturdays will be as called.
Technical Rehearsal Week – for all involved – will be December 4th through opening night.
Please have all calendar conflicts for the rehearsal period available to note on your Audition Form. If you are unable to make the mandatory Technical rehearsal week we will be unable to cast you in this production.
Auditions will take place at The English School, Salmiya on the following days:
AUDITION DATES
Tuesday, October 27th 7:30PM

Wednesday, October 28th 7:30PM
You only need to attend one audition (Tuesday or Wednesday). You may be called back for a final audition.
CALLBACKS: Will be announced as needed
Auditionees should arrive for a prompt start for an introduction to the show.
You will be asked to complete an audition form detailing your intentions and informing us if you wish to audition for a principal character or an ensemble role.
As a group, all auditionees will be taught a short section of a vocal track and a movement/dance routine. No prior dance experience or training is necessary. Just bring confidence!
Auditionees will be asked to sing up to one minute of a fully memorized song that showcases their voice. (Please download a backing track to sing with.) There are potential songs for all Principal characters.
In addition to your prepared song, auditionees may be given a few vocal drills to determine vocal range and harmonizing skills.
After vocal and dance, auditionees will be asked to look at scenes from the script, in duos or groups and auditioned from these sides. (Sides are not available ahead of time.)
PRINCIPAL ROLES (18+)
This production relies heavily on comedy, character work, and the relationship between performers and the audience. Auditionees should be prepared to demonstrate:
-Characterisation: Bold, imaginative character choices.
-Comic timing: The ability to deliver jokes, react, and play comedy naturally.
-Physical comedy: Expressive movement, exaggerated reactions, and a willingness to be silly.
-Audience interaction: Confidence in breaking the fourth wall and responding to an audience.
Above all, we’re looking for performers who are ready to have fun!
Fairy Tales / Dame Tilly Topps
Dual role – traditionally male-presenting Dame
Fairy Tales is our narrator and magical guide through the story. Quick-witted, theatrical, and full of personality, Fairy Tales keeps the audience involved while attempting to maintain some semblance of order.
Dame Tilly Topps is the owner of the Panto Emporium. Bold, outrageous, and delightfully over the top, Tilly brings all the traditional comedy and audience interaction expected of a pantomime Dame.
We’re looking for: An exceptionally confident comic performer with strong audience rapport, excellent timing, improvisational ability, and the willingness to embrace physical comedy and outrageous characterisation.
Killjoy / Billy Topps
Dual role – comic and villain
Killjoy is the pantomime villain who hates everything that makes pantomime fun. Mischievous, grumpy, and determined to ruin the story, Killjoy thrives on being booed by the audience.
Billy Topps is Dame Tilly’s son and the show’s comic. Playful and full of mischief, Billy provides much of the traditional pantomime humour.
We’re looking for: A highly versatile comic actor who can create distinctly different characters, switch between roles, engage confidently with an audience, and deliver exaggerated physical and verbal comedy.
Prince Charmless
Principal comic hero
Forget the charming, sophisticated princes of traditional fairy tales. Prince Charmless is blunt, dim-witted, and lacking in social grace.
Despite his shortcomings, he finds himself at the centre of the adventure, navigating a story that rarely goes according to plan.
We’re looking for: A performer with excellent deadpan comic timing, strong characterisation, and the ability to make a ridiculous character both entertaining and endearing.
Girl
Known simply as Girl initially, she is an ordinary village girl who becomes an important part of this extraordinary pantomime adventure. She provides a grounded presence within the story.
We’re looking for: A confident, expressive performer with strong storytelling ability, natural stage presence, and the ability to react convincingly to the madness unfolding around her.
KIDS CHORUS
Students who are enrolled in SIK KIDS Classes will be invited to audition for our kids’ chorus in November.
