Audition Format
Please arrive at auditions slightly early as you will need to fill out your audition form before you audition. The session will start promptly as advertised.
Auditionees wanting to only audition for ENSEMBLE will sing in groups a section of “When you’re an Addams“. You can download audition prep material here: LYRICS | DEMO TRACK | PRACTICE TRACK
Auditionees wanting to read for a PRINCIPAL ROLE should prepare the sides for that character and a one minute cut of a song of their choice (preferably Musical Theatre) that best shows off their voice. You MUST bring a downloaded backing track – we cannot audition you from a streaming / internet link.
The audition comprises three sections:
- MOVEMENT: All auditionees will be taught a section of choreography for auditions. Please wear comfortable clothing that does not limit movement. No slippers, flipflops, or bare feet.
- MUSIC: Everyone will sing the ENSEMBLE vocal audition together. Those auditioning for principal roles will then perform their selected song cut song (and may be asked to sing the Show selection listed below). If you would like to put your name forward for more than one part please come familiar with all character songs.
- ACTING: Auditionees will read the sides in small groups. Please familiarise yourselves with the short scenes in the SIDES document for the character(s) that you wish to audition for.
Character Descriptions and Audition Materials
Below are details for each Principal character including the song snippets you may be asked to sing in audition or callback. As well as your ‘prepared’ audition track, please look at these show-specific audition pieces as well as the sides for your character of interest.
