Come Get Involved in Our Season Opener!

It’s our SEASON OPENER. A fun way to start the season and an easy way to get involved and see if SIK is for you. A 90 minute program of numbers from West End and Broadway shows, all put together in a month. FOUR basic rehearsals! Yes – it’s MAD! But we’ve done it before and it’s a lot of fun too!

SOLOIST AUDITIONS

We’ll be holding an open audition for potential soloists from 7pm  – 9pm at the SIK Studio, Fintas.

Please bring a prepared musical theatre song that best displays your vocal ability. We won’t need to hear the whole number so be prepared to sing the BEST bit! If you have a backing track on ipod or phone that is great. If not we will do our best to accompany you if you don’t want to sing accapella.

From the auditions we will decide which songs and who will sing what. Successful soloists will also be paired up to perform duets and small group numbers.

Rehearsals for solos, duets and small group numbers will begin Sunday 23rd September and run Sundays and Tuesday evenings through to show week. We also hope that all soloists will join the ENSEMBLE (as below)

JOIN THE ENSEMBLE

If you are only interested in joining the chorus for the ensemble numbers then you don’t need to AUDITION. Friday 21st September we kick off the rehearsals to pull the show together by October 17th (Dress Rehearsal). It’s just 4 Friday afternoons of practice.

As with all previous Season Openers, everyone and anyone is welcome in the ensemble (ages 18+) There are no auditions, you must just be able to commit to the full set of Friday afternoon rehearsals and show week.

• Solos/Groups will rehearse Sunday and Tuesday evenings from 7pm – 9pm
• Ensemble rehearsals will be Fridays from September 21st to October 13th – 2pm – 6pm.
• Show week commences October 15th with Dress Rehearsal on October 17th.
• Performances run Oct 18/19 from 7.30pm – 10pm at American United School, Sabah Al Salem.

Come join us for a manic month of minimal rehearsals and a great amount of musical theatre as we mount the SIK SEVENTH SEASON OPENER. It’s going to be WILD!

Whatever your talent level, our Season Opener is a great way to take your first steps onto the stage in Kuwait.
